January 3, 2005: The Combined Anti-Armor Team from India Company, 3rd Battalion 3rd Marines, conducts a quick reaction force to the location of an improvised explosive device attack on an Operational Detachment-Alpha team of 2nd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), which claimed the life of Sergeant Jeremy R. Wright.
